Travel Purpose: business

Positive: The cabin is is literally on a well manicured meadow with lush green grass in the middle of a forest. The sound of leaves rustling, a creek rippling by, and birds singing surround you. I loved taking my younger son out to see the bumble bees, squirrels, and frogs in the yard. There were turkey, rabbits, and deer on the road up. My oldest BBQ'd outside and the entire family liked being able to sit outside with him while he did, then enjoyed dinner outside together. After dinner we had a fire in the firepit and roasted marshmallows. The beds were comfy, kitchen well equipped, and house very clean. We really appreciated the host had thought of and supplied some things to make the stay more enjoyable like wood for the firepit, lighter fluid to BBQ with, spices, oil, and butter for cooking, as well as some things we had just not thought to bring like aluminum foil and scissors. Record player added a nice touch. We didn't think we'd use the TV but on our last night my youngest really liked watching his favorite show, Bluey which was easy to pull up using the cabin's wi-fi. The home itself was a rustic cabin that has been updated with a very nice kitchen and bathroom and kept some of the old charm with its wood floors and original windows. There are multiple views of the outside from every room and we enjoyed the light that came in. The location was remote being off a dirt road however just minutes from downtown Downsville with some pretty good eateries in local Hamden, Walton, and Roscoe. We fished in swam in the local river minutes away and just over a cool covered bridge. Theres a kayak and fishing rental place too.

Negative: While the water was immediately hot, we got used to taking 2 minute showers as we quickly ran out of water each day. No other ways our stay could have been better.
