Positive: It was close to central Miltown Malbay, the pubs & restaurants etc. Quiet environment. Nice large bathroom. Safe parking.

Negative: The overriding feeling we both had regarding this property is that the owners had a spare room & decided to cash in on it. Whilst making minimal effort to actually make it FEEL like a guesthouse. Our room had two twin beds that had been pushed together, with tiny single duvets on each side. No bottom sheet, just a blanket, which was strange. There was no TV / radio etc. in the room. You could see that the room had been used by their children at some point, as there were still crayon marks on the walls & wardrobe. There is no coffee / tea making facility inside the room, just a "coffee station" in the hallway outside. Which was okay, as we were alone in the house that night. But had there been someone else there, it would have been embarrassing to stand there & make coffee first thing in the morning, with pyjamas on. There were no elements that made us feel welcome. The heating in the house had been turned off, most likely because the family were not home. So we had one tiny 5 fin oil heater to warm up the room, that's it. When it was 4 degrees outside that night. We only stayed one night, but frankly, if we had booked for more nights we would have found somewhere else to stay.
