Το σπίτι διαμορφώθηκε και επεκτάθηκε ως κατοικία το 1958, βασιζόμενο σε κτίσμα που λειτουργούσε ως καφενείο στο δεύτερο μισό του 19ου αιώνα έως και τις αρχές του 20ου. Επειδή η οικία έπαψε να κατοικείται μόνιμα από τα μέσα της δεκαετίας του 1980, έχουν μείνει σε αυτό τα δομικά και φορητά στοιχεία που προέκυψαν από τον μέχρι τότε -αγροτικού χαρακτήρα- τρόπο ζωής. Έκτοτε, οι όποιες παρεμβάσεις σε αυτό πραγματοποιήθηκαν με τρόπο που να μην προσβάλλουν ή αλλοιώνουν τα προηγούμενα οικιακά δεδομένα αλλά και το φυσικό περιβάλλον που το περικλείει. Στην μια του πλευρά, το σπίτι εφάπτεται με τον δρόμο που καταλήγει στην πλατεία του χωριού, όμως επειδή σε εκείνη δεν υπάρχουν πόρτες και παράθυρα, διατηρείται πλήρως η ιδιωτικότητα του σπιτιού και η αποφυγή θορύβου στο εσωτερικό του από τα, ούτως ή άλλως, αραιά περάσματα οχημάτων. Οι άλλες του πλευρές περικλείονται από περιμετρική αυλή με ακανόνιστο φάρδος, ανάλογο με τις ανάγκες που εξυπηρετεί κάθε μέρος της. Κατόπιν των ορίων της αυλής, ξεκινά το κτήμα, εκτάσεως 2 περίπου, στρεμμάτων που εκτείνεται προς τα δυτικά. Η έκταση του κτήματος καλύπτεται από ελαιόδεντρα και άγρια βλάστηση. Σε σημεία που προσφέρουν θέα έχουν διαμορφωθεί καθιστικά
Ο οικοδεσπότης ασχολείται ο ίδιος με την συντήρηση και την βελτίωση του σπιτιού και του κτήματος βασιζόμενος σε προσωπική εργασία και έτσι ώστε στο αποτέλεσμα των εργασιών να διασφαλίζεται ο παραδοσιακός "χωριάτικος" χαρακτήρας τους. Στις εργασίες χρησιμοποιούνται αυστηρά επιλεγμένα είδη υλικών: πέτρα, ξύλο, πηλός, χαλκός, τρίχινα υφάσματα και σχοινιά, καλάμια. Η δημιουργία κατασκευών και η βελτίωση των υπαρχόντων είναι συνεχής. Επίσης έχουν ξεκινήσει καλλιέργειες μικρών φυτών(αλόη, πιπερόριζα, εποχικά κηπευτικά είδη) με στόχο να καλύψουν το 1/4 της συνολικής έκτασης του περιβάλλων κτήματος.
ο σπίτι κείτεται περίπου 30 μέτρα από την πλατεία του χωριού, ωστόσο ανάμεσά τους παρεμβάλλεται κτίριο που εξασφαλίζει ησυχία και ιδιωτικότητα. Ο πληθυσμός του χωριού δεν ξεπερνά τους 10 ανθρώπους το χειμώνα, ενώ μπορεί να τριπλασιαστεί από τέλος Ιουλίου έως τέλος Αυγούστου. Για πεζοπορία, στα μονοπάτια Δρούτσουλας-Κεραμέ, Δρούτσουλας-Αρέθουσα, Δρούτσουλας-Κοσκινάς και Ξερέδων-Πλατανωπή. Για ποδηλασία, στις διαδρομές Δρούτσουλας-Ακαμάτρα και Δρούτσουλας-Κεραμέ. Για ορειβασία, στα αναγνωρισμένα ορειβατικά πεδία "Δρούτσουλας" και "Πλατανωπή", πολύ κοντά στο χωριό(πρόσβαση με τα πόδια).
