Positive: Best suited for walkers. The location was excellent, the elevated position of the property gave great views and access across to Chatsworth House and the hills all round. The private terrace was a lovely relaxing area, getting the sun most of the day. Our hosts were very friendly and apologetic for the inconvenience, gave us a bottle of wine and offer of a reduced price if we booked again.

Negative: We booked Little Hoot for a quiet, restful break to recharge after a very difficult few weeks at home, we're not walkers! The steep steps up to the property were a little precarious for older guests, there is no handrail. We had a few problems with quite a lot of spiders! in the property. Our host had a garden building erected during our stay, which started at 7. 30 on 3 mornings giving us an unwanted early wakeup. There were several wasps nests around the property, which resulted in us not being able to use the terrace or have the windows and door open the last 2 days of our visit. This was unpleasant as the weather was in the high 20's, we were so glad we took a fan with us. I rate this property 8 out of 10, as it is, but with a little extra TLC on the cleaning (cobwebs ), and some attention to sweeping the terrace and making it more attractive to sit out by planting the many empty pots with some summer flowers it could easily be a 10.
