Summary: If you have to stay at an airport hotel, the Hilton London Heathrow Airport is a very solid choice. My flight was canceled after I had already spent the previous night at another Heathrow airport hotel, so ideally I would have simply extended my stay there. Unfortunately, that hotel had been so dirty, smelled terrible, and had such unfriendly service that I checked out and moved to the Hilton instead. The difference was immediate. The staff at the Hilton were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was very clean, and the sheets were wonderfully crisp and fresh. The lobby area was also spacious and inviting, making it a perfectly comfortable place to be stuck for an unexpected extra night. It is convenient for getting to the airport, which is really the most important thing in this situation. My only complaint was the pricing in the little lobby market. I believe they were charging around $6 for a bottle of water, which felt absolutely ridiculous, even for an airport hotel. Otherwise, I had no complaints. It may not be a destination hotel, but when your flight is canceled and you need somewhere clean, comfortable, and convenient, this is exactly what you want.
