Positive: Lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful location. The kitchen was well-equipped with everything we needed to cook all our meals, with space to eat comfortably and a cosy spot to sit in front of the fire and TV. They had a good collection of DVDs and books to read, and bird feeders outside which were always busy and great to watch. There's plenty of storage space in the bedroom, and a rack to hang wet clothes. The cottage is perfectly laid out for 2 people. The location is just near the edge of Loch Venacher - you can't actually see the Loch from the cottage, but it is a short walk away. There are some beautiful walks nearby - both along the edge of Loch Venacher, and we loved Ben A'an (the other side of the next Loch along) and Bracklin Falls and Callendar Crags, from Callendar.

Negative: Parking outside was mostly easy as long as the people in the neighbouring cottage had parked sensibly leaving space to drive past (though there were 2 occasions when that wasn't the case). The wood-fired hot tub was a lot of effort - we're not used to lighting or maintaining fires, and the hot tub stove is challenging as you can't see through the door to keep an eye on the fire, and have to be constantly in and out the cottage to maintain it when it is too cold or wet to sit outside. It took 4 hours to heat up on the first day, and still nearly 3 hours to get warm on the other days. The wood burner inside the cottage was much easier and nice to watch, though we had a few minor burns from the door which gets very hot so do be careful!
