Summary: My spouse and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa Raymond for over a week and it was a great experience. The staff is incredibly helpful. Bonnie, the property manager, coordinated airport transfers, secured tuk tuk rides whenever needed, coordinated getting a birthday cake to surprise my spouse, and was responsive to any questions or issues we might have raised. Irene and Dorcas, the lovely housekeeping staff, kept us well supplied with pool towels and kept the place sparkling and spotless. Chefs Peter & Nico kept our bellies happy and full with absolutely outstanding meals. The space itself is incredibly welcoming and designed for both entertaining and intimate gathering. It gives a sense of seclusion and exclusivity but maintains a high level of comfort. There is a balance in design for both introverts and extroverts. The only word of caution I would offer is that you may see the occasional animal wander through the property. There was a monkey that scampered across the dining area at breakfast one day. It was not menacing and did not interact directly with us but it is something to consider if you are skittish around wild animals. One of the neighboring villas has a very friendly dog that sometimes “patrols” the property. Again, not a problem for us but I’m sure Bonnie would have made sure that the dog did not venture over to the property had we asked. Overall, this was a lovely villa to stay at and relax while exploring Diani.
