Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: Sian is a lovely woman and clearly wanted to ensure we were happy. The house is quite cute and spacious. A way better option for 4 people vs. a hotel. Everything was clean and neat. By way of background, this is actually Sian's home - she stays in the guest house that is adjacent for the summer season and rents it out. We had no issues with it, but know that Sian can access the house at any time. Again, she was very respectful and to our knowledge she only accessed it when we asked her to drop something off for us one time. I give Sian credit - the fridge had some wine and beer and champagne for us. Very nice touch. And a few cookie-like biscuits. And some coffee. Sian explained everything to us and was very responsive via bookings and WhatsApp. The location is excellent - it's a quick drive into Naussa which we did almost every day there for the restaurants and shopping. I would stay there again and truly recommend this above hotels.

Negative: We had just a few nits. 1) Accessing the house is a very tight turn into a gravel/dirt access road. It's a little discomforting, and I dare say leaving from there onto the busy road is also a bit harrowing, but we managed just fine. 2) There is a bush that has grown out into the driveway to the house, and another on the other side that similarly has as well. There was simply no way to drive fully into the parking area without brushing up against the car on one side or the other. We asked Sian if it could be cut back a bit and she indicated it really helps provide privacy, so essentially no. She offered to us that we could park in a spot we didn't need to go fully in but it wasn't convenient for us. 3) Hot water is a problem unless it's the middle of the day. Late at night and early in the morning there basically isn't hot water - it's a solar heater and there is no working switch to manually heat it up after the sun has gone down. Given we were out from like 8 AM to 10 PM every day, that meant not many hot showers for us. 4) The beds are rock hard. Some like that. We are not among them. We ultimately slept fine, but it's not our ideal type of mattresses. If you do like very firm mattresses, you will be quite happy. 5) The washer door is finicky and it won't start unless you push against it just so. My wife ultimately got the hang of where to push and how hard.

Summary: Great house, great location, eager-to-please host.
