The village of Karavados (1.4km) is further up the road, at the base of Mount Ainos and surrounded by pine trees and citrus groves. This classic Greek village is home to a church, mini-market and local taverna.
A short 5 minute drive or a 25 minute stroll with take you to the village and beach of Trapezaki with a handful of restaurants, including the highly regarded ‘Denis’, a celebrated bakery and a mini-market. Other beaches within a short drive are Lourdas (8km) considered to be one of the best on the island with several well regarded tavernas along its extensive seafront and Mounda (24km) renowned both for the quality of its fine golden sand and reputation as a sanctuary for the endangered Loggerhead turtle.
