Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The apartment & pool were lovely. Apartment was clean when we arrived with the exception of the balcony. Host offered to have the balcony cleaned daily due to the dust from construction site next door. We were also given one nights fee back for the inconvenience of the noise. Host response time was good & tried to be helpful.

Negative: We were woken up on our 1st morning by extremely loud construction works all around the property. There is another apartment block being built right next door & also a swimming pool. At 7:30am there was a guy on a machine pounding the ground to flatten the ground around the pool. All of the construction work also made the balcony pretty much unusable until night time. The key to use the pool for our block was not explained to us so when attempting to go round to try to get in I got shouted at through a window by a resident who demanded I tell him what room we were staying in, said I looked suspicious when walking round to try to get into the pool area, he apologised after & then came down to tell us one of the many rules of using the pool. We were also informed that other residents in a different block had been using the pool when they were not allowed. Clearly a lot politics between the blocks that are there already. Whilst I appreciate that residents do live in the block, it appeared to us that we were not really welcome. Had I known or had been pre warned about the construction that is on-going I would have cancelled our stay here as we planned on staying here for rest & relaxation.
